How to Bake a Perfect Pizza

If you wish to really impress your friends with one of the most famous Italian recipes, read on!

Today, we are actually going to teach you how to bake a simple tomato and mozzarella cheese pizza (Margherita). You can add to this base your favorite toppings, such as mushrooms, ham, salami, or herbs.

The Right Tools

When it comes to pizza, be aware that you’ll need some useful tools to help you out; a universal mixer, a wide baking tray, and a pastry brush.

You can certainly prepare the dough by hand, but not only will it take you ages, but also the result will not be as good as you would expect, especially if you are a beginner. A mixer is a good investment; once you see how convenient it is to use, you’ll soon become a pizza expert!

How to Bake Your Pizza

Pour the flour (1 kg), water (600 ml), two teaspoons of salt, yeast, and about 100ml of olive oil directly into the mixing bowl. Mix it at low speed for about 10 minutes.

Next, cover the dough and leave it to rise for about four hours. Then, prepare a baking tray by covering it with baking paper. Divide the dough into three separate parts and roll one of the pieces out on the tray with the help of your hands or with a rolling pin.

Make sure that the borders of the dough remain a bit thicker than the rest. Then, spread the tomato sauce on the pizza. Tomatoes tend to release water, so don’t put too much of it on.

Then, add the mozzarella cheese; we suggest that you slice it at least about an hour before you use it so that it dries up a bit.

Pour olive oil on top of your pizza and then brush the borders with oil as well. Preheat the oven at about 250° and bake the pizza on the lower tray for 10 minutes and on the middle shelf for about five minutes.

How to Serve You Pizza

Now, here comes the best part! Once a pleasant smell comes out of the oven, and you see that the crust is becoming brown, then your pizza is ready.

Take it out of the oven and remove the tray and the baking paper, and put the pizza on a wooden board to keep it hot but crispy. Slice it or simply cut it into parts with a pair of cooking scissors and serve it while it’s still hot.

Since you have prepared the base for three pizzas, and if you want to make the cooking process faster, roll out the three of them before starting to bake, so you’ll be ready once you need to put the next one in the oven.
